Water supply is a critical component to most major rural projects. The engineers at G&A have been involved in a wide variety of water supply design challenges from onsite drilled wells for private residential projects to large public water supply systems including onsite subsurface storage and booster station design. Our design staff is continually educated on the latest federal, state and local regulations, as well as the latest developments in technology and research.

Recent water supply projects include Berkshire Hills Regional School District campus (BHRSD) and Patriot Resorts Timeshare Community systems. For BHRSD, we were responsible for design and permitting of a new onsite drilled public water supply well (20,000gpd) with onsite atmospheric storage tanks and variable speed booster pump system (approx. 550gpm at 75 psi) to the distribution network and end users (potable use only). The atmospheric storage tanks also included equipment for radon reduction. In addition, we designed onsite subsurface fire protection water storage (260,000 gallons), fire pump and distribution system (2,300 gpm at 75psi) for fire protection servicing site hydrants and building sprinkler systems.

For Patriot Resorts, our responsibilities included design, permitting and operation of 70,000 gpd public water system.  The system includes a new onsite drilled well public water supply (99,000 gpd), subsurface storage tanks (140,000 gals), variable speed booster pumps and fire pump system (1000 gpm @ 55 psi), and distribution network servicing potable and fire protection needs to 296 residential time share units, pool house, and the clubhouse.
